CHILDREN'S DENTISTRY QUESTIONS

We recommend bringing your child along to their first dental visit as soon as their first teeth start to appear, or by their first birthday at the latest. Early visits help your child get used to the dental environment before any treatment is needed.

Your child's first visit is all about making them feel comfortable. We'll have a gentle look at their teeth and gums, talk you through any concerns, and offer advice on brushing, diet and habits, at a pace that suits your child.

Yes. We assess jaw growth and tooth alignment as part of your child's routine care, and can offer early interceptive treatment or refer for braces and aligners once your child is ready.

This varies from child to child. Some issues benefit from early interceptive treatment around age 7-9, while most orthodontic treatment begins once most adult teeth have come through, usually early-to-mid teens. Our team will advise on the right timing for your child.

Keeping visits positive and low-pressure makes a big difference. Our team is experienced in working with nervous or first-time patients, and we're always happy to talk through ways to prepare your child before their appointment.
